Even Mama's a Sucker for Nemo!
So, I get to the store and out of curiousity ask about the saltwater fish tanks (which would allow us to recreate the Nemo experience in our home)...and 60 minutes (and I'm not going to say how much money), later I've ordered everything we need to get our 32 gallon saltwater aquarium set up. I have thought about doing this so many times, but always changed my mind because I was overwhelmed by the task - but today I decided it was time and the Fish World store is actually going to deliver everything, set it up and teach us how to do everything. I want to make sure I do it completely right.
Anyway, I get home and since the guy is delivering today or tomorrow, I wanted to talk to Nathan about his upcoming Christmas gift. I said, "Nathan, what do you want for Christmas?"
He said, "Sea creatures."
I said, "What kind? Toys or real ones?" (he has always said toys in the past)
He said, "Real ones."
"What kind?"
"A whale."
I tell him that a whale is much too big to have in our house and he's not too happy with me. Then he says, "No clown fish!"
I said, "You don't want to have a Nemo and Dorrie swimming in your own house?" and he says absolutely not.
About 20 minutes later, he changed his mind and said it would be cool (thank goodness this fickle guy isn't in charge of caring for the tank - don't worry, Mama will be responsible and I will take good care of the aquarium). But then I had to explain that we have to get the tank ready and it would be up to 2 months or so before we could put a clownfish in. So far, he's okay with that - probably because he doesn't know how long 2 months is...but we'll see.
Anyway, I'm pretty excited about finally taking the plunge (no pun intended) because I've actually had a Tropical Fish website for some time (someone else wrote the content) and now I'll be able to share some of our own experience. Who knows...I bet there with be a Tropical Fish Island blog there in no time (yes, I am blog obsessed!).

How fun. Will you post pictures when it's all put together? :) I'm sure Natey has to be on cloud nine!
Of course, I'll post photos -- the boys with the tank, of course! In the meantime, the blog is up...hee hee...couldn't resist.
