Bed Wetting - 2 Beds a Night!
When Malcolm was potty trained, he never wet his bed. He went without wetting his bed for over a year then suddenly, he started wetting his bed almost every night. I got lazy and gave him pull-ups.
Several months later, his brother started to potty train. For some reason, he was good with the pee...but he'd often poop in his pants during the day and at night. I tolerated the messes during the day, but was too fearful that he'd poop in his bed if I left him without a diaper (which eventually became pull-ups because that's what his brother had). It just became a habit.
Eventually, Malcolm had more daytime accidents and I attributed it to being lazy with the pull-ups at night. We got rid of the pull-ups and I really encourage him to stay dry and his daytime habits improved right away. At the same time, we got rid of Nathan's pull-ups.
This was a few weeks ago. We haven't had a single completely dry night. Nathan has had a few dry nights here and there...and Malcolm maybe only one dry night. I am doing a LOT of laundry!
I'm encouraging the boys, making sure they pee before bed and don't allow drinks before bed...but it keeps going on. I hope that it will just require time and patience after wearing the pull-ups for so long.
If you've got any tips, I'm ALL ears.

My oldest wet the bed only a few times and every time it was because he had a lot of juice to drink or something like Sprite at the Grandparents' house. The sugar irritates the bladder or something like that. Do they drink a lot of juice during the day?
No, not really. However, they never used to drink juice at all. Now they're allowed some occasionally. Maybe I should watch that.
But they are definitely drinkers. They drink lots of milk and water and try to have them stop an hour or so before bedtime...but maybe I have to stop them sooner than that.
Some moms have pointed to a milk allergy as a cause of wetting...but if they're not having any other symptoms that's unlikely. Does dairy allergy run in the family?
Nope, no milk allergies in the family.
