Is A Good Mom Self Sacrificing?

Being a Mom isn't easy, and of course there are many times when we make sacrifices in order to do what's best for our children. After all, we're adults and we can be a little more creative about getting our needs met. We also don't have to rely on other people to meet our needs like the little people do.

But is the ideal mom self sacrificing?

Kelly Nault doesn't think so, and she believes we do ourselves and our families a big disservice in the end if we embrace that paradigm. Today on Natural Moms Talk Radio, Kelly shares her thoughts. She's also giving away a free copy of her book. Listen to the show to find out how to win!

Small sacrifices are good and the nature of being a mom, a spouse, a friend and any supportive person.

But I agree - we don't have to make martyrs out of ourselves. Our families want us to be happy and that includes doing things for ourselves.

I'm going to listen to the show now...instead of yapping on and on.

I agree, that maternal instinct will dictate some sacrifices- sometimes major and other times more ordinary and minor...

However, some of my mom-friends simply lost their identity in motherhood- and really forgot how to care for themselves, which cannot be good for their families in the long-term.

Personally, I take time to do non-revenue-producing activites every day that I just enjoy, simply because I deserve to recharge myself! I once bought the domain name www.SpriritualChocolate.com with the intention to build a site around women who need to nurture themselves- haven't built the site yet! (still stuck in keyword research!)
