Vacations with the Kids

Having 2 little guys, vacations always take big planning. Packing is more complicated, hopefully flights aren't too long and the hotels are family-friendly. We recently did a Disney trip and have just booked my favorite vacation with kids - a cruise.
This cruise is actually fairly local. We just have a car ride to Seattle (about 2 hours) and then the cruise ship goes up the West Coast to Prince Rupert. Now, it's not exotic, but what I love about this cruise is:
- There's no long flight to the cruise ship
- There's fun stuff for the kids to do, while Mom and Dad can enjoy themselves a bit too
- All meals and food are included.
This one's a great deal too, booked through my mother in law. It's 4 nights (not too short and not too long for the little ones) and comes to $1400, including tax, for a family of four. Not to shabby!
Do you have any family vacations planned? Here's some traveling with family tips that might help.

WOW that is a really good deal Alice. I really admire how many family fun trips you all make the time for --- after all it's one of the most exciting parts of being your own boss!
We don't have any planned. Sadly we used up Hubby's remodeling the basement --- and it didn't even get completed :(
Next time off is when we'll have the baby. And hubby doesn't get holidays or sick days...so literally when he uses his week vacation that is it until the next one :(
I cannot wait until my business is making enough money to either bring hubby home or let him work a part time job so that we have more freedom as a family and not just me as a mama.
Have fun on the trip - I'm sure you will. And take LOTS of pictures. I've never been on a cruise nor seen the ocean.
Wow, I was just thinking of a cruise with the kids. MY MIL just got back from one and was telling me how there were a lot of kids onboard and lots for them to do.
Until then I wasn't sure if it was a very kid-friendly holiday but it sounds like it definitely is.
We're moving this summer so we may need to wait a little... but have a great time!
