Kids Love Play Dough

My kids do, and yours probably do too.

My 4 & 3 year old have been stuck at home for a few days since they haven't been feeling well. Today I made up a batch of homemade playdough for them and they seemed to feel better for a little while.

Homemade playdough is great. It's easy to make and has a nicer consistency than the store bought kind. Here's the recipe we used:

Homemade Playdough Recipe

1 cup plain flour
1 cup water
1/2 cup salt
2 tablespoons cream of tartar
2 tablespoons oil
2 to 3 drops of food coloring of choice

Just mix all the ingredients together in a pot, add the food coloring until you get a color you like, and heat over medium heat stirring regularly until mixture starts to gel together. Tada! Instant playdough. The kids can enjoy making it and playing with it. That should keep them busy for a little while :-)

Thanks for posting the recipe. :) My mom has an edible one too. My son doesnt really play with it very well yet though. He tends to just tear it up and throw it on the ground. LOL
