The Party Crashers

I am such a horrible mother!

Yesterday, my husband suggested we head out to the Bear Creek Park Train. The boys love trains and they were supposed to have a dinosaur display, so we headed out. We go into the office to pay and we see one of the girls from Malcolm's preschool is there.

We buy our tickets and wait for the train. Suddenly, more kids from preschool are surrounding us. Then I realize that I completely forgot the birthday party invitation Malcolm received earlier in the week. All the kids were here for one of the boy's birthdays.

You can see Malcolm looking around, seeming surprised and trying to figure out why so many kids from daycare were there. I felt so bad, but I didn't want to tell him there because I thought he'd get upset. But I didn't want to keep it a secret either.

We told him later and I said we'd make the boy a birthday card to give him on Monday. Big boy Malcolm forgave me and said, "It's okay Mommy if you made a mistake."
