The Bully Who Could Do No Wrong
Well, the kid pushes a small child and the small child's mother says something like, "Be careful. You shouldn't push."
She didn't say he was a horrible child and how dare he push her child. She asked him to be careful.
The mom of the big kid is on the sidelines and pipes up, "My kid did not push your kid, so keep your mouth shut."
It went on a bit more with the woman basically yelling at the other mom, while the other mom didn't really say anything. She just wanted the confrontation to be over.
In my house, you're responsible for your actions, even when they're accidents or mistakes. I feel sorry for that big kid who's going to grow up to be a big bully, just like his mom. :-(

I know it's sad because this is the example they see and will grow up without knowing that there are consequences for their actions.
Some parents can really react so badly to you even politely telling their kids not to do something. I always give the parents a chance to speak up but if they don't then I have to tell the child (politely) to please stop.
Needless to say, there have been a few incidents where the parents aren't too happy. Not a nice situation, I hate confrontations especially loud public ones with bullies! LOL.
Sad.
I had an experience once at a mall playland like this. This one HUGE kid (taller than the height thingie at the entrance) was JUMPING off the play structures...mind you there are babies crawling around. He was clearly too big and was creating a dangerous situation. He could have broken a toddler's leg if he landed on it. I went up to him and said "Don't do that again."
His redneck, toothless ignoramus of a Mom came up to me and got in my face, spitting mad.
She made it very clear that I had no business to speak to her child and that I had better watch out.
Puh-leeze. A security guard came up and asked the kid to leave!
After the Mom walked away, a couple of the other Moms told me they were glad I did what I did and that they had my back if the mom had decided to get ugly. LOL!
The thing is, kids like this ARE everyone's problem. My taxes will be paying for his time in prison. :-(
Just to clarify too, the big kid's mom was outside of the play area and not really involved with what her kid was doing. We didn't even know who his mom was until she piped up in anger.
