Moms Build Websites?

Over the past little while, I've been having more moms ask me about building their own website. Some want to do it for fun and others want to start a full-fledged business. If you want to start a business, I always recommend you go professional and make sure your website has your own name, etc. For help on that, definitely grab my free Online Business Action Guide. I've been at this for several years now and love to help other moms get started.

But if you just want to get your feet wet and have a little fun, here's some EASY tools to get you started:

• Blogger.com - Start a free blog. This is the easiest way to start a nice-looking blog. We use Blogger here at BecauseMomSaidSo.com, but we host it on our domain (A domain is simply the name for the site - becausemomsaidso.com. eBay's domain is ebay.com. You can buy domains inexpensively here).
  
• MySpace.com - Create a personal page with info about yourself, post photos and allow others to post comments. This is more of a social networking opportunity than to build your own full-fledged website.
  
• InternetBasedFamily.com - This has a free 10-day trial, but then I'm going to take your money. :-) But it will allow you to create a really nice-looking feature-rich site. If you plan to convert your "for fun" site into a business, you might want to choose an option like this.

There's lots of other free tools out there, but most of them produce ugly-looking sites littered with ads. Anyway, have fun mom!
