The 1st day of school and I already need a break
After Dropping my 15 year old off at school then rushing to take my 6yo to his 2nd grade class I didn't get my morning coffee until 10am (that is NEVER a good sign), well I worked, cleaned, prepared dinner, worked some more then picked them up from school. During the car ride home I listened to them tell me the "Good, Bad & the Ugly" then argue over who I help 1st with the homework. Turns out my 15yo could only describe school with 3 phrases "Lame, HUH & I don't know" and my 6yo said it was FUN until they had to open a book and read. ((Humph the never of that teacher)).
My son's homework assignment is to make a *Interest Bag* simple, right? Ha-Ha, nothing is as simple as it sounds with children (smile). The concept is to take a brown lunch bag, decorate it then put things you are interested in, inside the bag to talk about the following day in class. Have any of you moms tried to explain to a 6yo why he/she can't bring Charlie the goldfish to class in the paper bag. As I am trying to explain he interrupts with a "But Mom, we can put Charlie in a Zip Lock Bag and just drop him in the bag, he will be ok."
Calgon Take Me Away!!!

We're up for a big change this year with Malcolm starting kindergarden. It's going to disrupt the relaxed schedule that we're so used to. Back to school doesn't always mean more time for mama, does it?
Enjoy that bubble bath, Aurelia!
The first day is always so hectic isn't it.
My little girl starts next monday and she's so excited, I'm actually starting to get really excited for her but a little sad too.
LOL - thanks for sharing. It really is a funny story (so long as it's not happening to you right?)
