A Conversation with a 3 Year-Old

We were in the store yesterday and Nathan saw a baby bottle that I guess he thought was pretty cool. So he says, "Mommy, next time I'm a baby, can you get me one of those?"

Of course, I had to explain that you only get to be a baby once.

So he says, "Next time one of us has a baby in our belly, can you get that bottle?"

Where does he get these ideas?

Alice, my youngest daughter seems to think there are a predetermined number of babies in your stomach. So she asks me (also at the age of 3) how many babies are in her stomach. That sort of came from her asking how babies get into stomachs and I told her that God puts them there. So I guess she figures he must put a certain number in there and we should know how many there are.

Oh yeah, then after wanting to know how babies get in, they want to know how they come out.

LOL! That is too funny Alice! I'm glad my son hasn't asked me that yet (he's 4).

Stacie she's kind of right. After all when a baby girl is born she has all the eggs she's ever going to have. :)
