And That's Why He Doesn't Have to Share

Today the boys were arguing over a toy (what else is new?) and they were trying to get me to resolve the matter. I wanted to use Carrie's "I'm a lover, not a fighter line," but instead I said:

"You guys are going to have to figure this out for yourselves. Instead of arguing all the time, you need to learn how to share."

Malcolm says, "I don't have to because I already know how. I just want my toy."

*Sigh*

HAHA! How do you not just crack up when they say things like that? I know it is frustrating, but if my son said something like that I'd have a hard time keeping a straight face. I better start working on my mommy game face.

LOL that Malcom is a pistol!! Great answer from him... *sigh* at times I wish Isaac had a brother/sister around his age then when I think of being referree all the time and I just sit and smile!

Hope they worked it out amongst themselves and I love your approach.

I have such issues w/this too. My 3 y/o and 4y/o are constantly arguing over toys and things in general like who opens the door first!

I think when they're so close in age (like yours as well) they can be very close but also fight tons

Most of the time I just tell them that they can't play if they are going to fight.

That's so cute though - at least he knows how to say what he's feeling. ;)
