Do Coupons Make You Spend More Money?

I'm not much of a coupon clipper, but I'm also not a financial management genius. I've decided to make some changes and in the past few days I've cut over $1000 in monthly expenses (that includes business & personal) and I'm still looking to cut more.

I was looking at an online coupon site and saw all kinds of great deals. From what I can tell, it's mainly for online shopping offers, which is a-okay with me! Of course, many of the offers are for the U.S., but we're lucky enough to have a U.S. mail.

I had to close my laptop screen when my husband was around as I looked at the BestBuy coupons page - because then it would go from saving money to just plain old spending money. ;-)

Since I'm a coupon newbie, tell me something - do you think coupons make you spend more money? I know in the past when I've looked at coupons, I'd think, "That's a great deal," and might use the coupon when I normally wouldn't have purchased the item.
