I'm Just the Scumbag Here for the Bud Light
Some of them are kind of funny. Like the guy who is backstage at a rock concert and some groupies come up and ask him to sign his tummy. He signs the women's bodies with big black felt, as requested. One woman asks him what he plays in the band and the guys says he's not in the band, but he's "just here for the Bud Light."
I can laugh at that.
But then there's the guy who is at a speed dating event and he's talking to a woman. She says she feels a connection. He says he does too. She says they should go out. He says his fiance wouldn't like that and he's "just here for the Bud Light."
Now I swear that previously that commercial said "wife", rather than "fiance", which leads me to wonder if viewers found the "wife" thing offensive. And if they did, why would the brilliant ad execs at Budweiser think "fiance" is any less offensive.
But it's not just offensive, it potentially says something about the people who drink Bud Light. If I were a Bud Light consumer (which I'm not), I wouldn't want to be associated with a scumbag like that. Maybe Budweiser has done some research and found that potential cheaters are their typical customers. In that case, I guess I'll just back off. ;-)
Anyway...have you seen the commercial? What do you think?

I haven't seen it but I imagine they're mainly targetting guys and guys would probably find that funny... go figure!
I don't think women is there target market. I don't like budwiser i'm a cool rock or amstel light girl, actually I prefer red wine now.
Do you think faithful men would find that funny? DH actually hates the commercial more than me and said if he drank Bud Light he'd stop.
Well my DH wouldn't find it funny cause he doesn't like that type of humor but maybe I have misconceptions about men in general LOL...
Unfortunately, I often think the worst especially when I see married guys blatently checking out other women in front of their wives. Also DH has told me a few stories about what some of the married guys at work get up to.
I know all men are not the same, but yeah I think some faithful yet eye wandering guys would probably think it's funny.
LOL..I have to laugh at this. I think its just a commercial and kindda funny. I mean, he's just there for the Bud Light...not to cheat on his wife/girlfriend. Maybe I am looking at it differently. My husband drinks Bud Light and their other beers occasionally, I would never associate him to the person they are portraying. I am sure if DH saw it he'd get a chuckle out of it. I guess we don't take commercials that seriously. I'd have to see it again to really analyze it.
