Kindergarden in 1 Hour
Last Wednesday was his last day of preschool and we brought a birthday cake to share with the kids to celebrate Malcolm's birthday (on the 7th) and his last day. I told him that was his last day, but I knew he didn't quite get it. His teachers told him good luck and when I picked him up, I asked him how his last day went. He said good.
Then on Sunday, we started talking about kindergarden and how his brother will still be going to preschool. He looks at me with sad eyes and whimpers, "I'm not going back?"
I had to explain again that last Wednesday was his last day before kindergarden. Then he decided he didn't want to go to kindergarden.
By Monday, everything was fine and he was excited about kindergarden. This morning, we dropped his brother off at preschool and are heading to kindergarden in 1 hour. I hope he'll be okay. He's excited and has told me he's ready to go about 3 times since I started writing this.
So, maybe he's ready, but I'm not sure if I am. And yes, as Midwest Mama (Nell) suggested, I've packed my tissues.

I got a bit teary too... but nothing like some of the other mothers. One of them had mascara streaming down her face, LOL... i shouldn't laught but it was a little funny and kinda too my mind of how sad I was feeling.
I imagine I'll cry. I don't know if I'll sob (hehe) but I will shed a tear. I bet I will when he goes into preschool. LOL
Alice, let us know how the day ended up and if you took a picture I know we'd love to see it!
Congrats on your first day of school Malcolm!
My youngest daughter was waiting to get to Kindergarten (because her sisters are at that school). She kept asking me how much longer she has to keep going back to pre-school because she wanted to go to kindergarten already. LOL
Man they grow up fast!
