School is free, it's everything else that's expensive

The other day I was chatting with friends about the costs involved with giving your kid a 'well rounded' childhood experience.

Sports = Lots of Money
Music = Lots of Money
Hobbies = Lots of Money
Social Life = Lots of Money

Being a homeschool mom has a few financial advantages. I don't have to buy school clothes, participate in school fundraisers, buy a school lunch, pay for six grade camp, etc.

School is free - but everything else will cost you something.

Tell me about it, school lunches alone are costing me around 25 a week (for two kids!), plus all the extra curricular activities... and once the third one start it's only going to get worst.

I hear ya Kelly!! And Mila yes, my jaw hit the floor when I saw that school lunches were $3.10/lunch (OUCH).

I have one in Elem and one in HS and I think on an average with just the transportation, lunch and school activities we pay about 60/month per child *sigh*
