Teen Cleaning Priorities

My sixteen year old has responsibility for the dishes in our house and we have quite the difference in opinion about what qualifies as a clean dish.

I've seen enough sparkling dishes in my life to know what a clean dish looks like - but apparently he needs his eyesight checked. I don't argue with him anymore, I just put the dish back in the sink. I figure that he'll get tired of washing dishes over eventually, right?

Then today in the car he was polishing his iPod with great care and lamenting the slightest smudge. I asked him why it was that he couldn't see soap scum on a bowl - yet he could notice the tiniest smear on the face of his mp3 player.

'Well, I'm not going to watch my podcasts in a bowl am I?'

BTW Does he do what Isreal does and fill up a dish with hot soapy water and attempt to leave it there in the sink to *SOAK*. Uhhh how hard is it to get cereal out of a bowl anyway... ;)

Aurelia... there is cold soapy water in my sink as we speak. He's been trying to pawn his job off on me all day.

He even asked Tishia if she'd like to do when she stopped over earlier.

Crazy Lazy Kid!
