Halloween is right around the corner

Isaac still isn't quite sure what he wants to dress up as this year. He is stuck between being a Mummy or a Football player. I love Halloween, mostly because I love to pass out the goodies and look at all of the children all dressed, smiling and on a sugar high (smile).

Do any of you remember back in the day when you could go Trick-or-Treating and you didn't have to have your Mom or Dad inspect each piece of candy you got. Heck, I remember being able to eat apples and other fruits from the neighbors house. <> Times sure have changed.

Well - I caught a few sales on some Halloween candy, dusted off our Halloween decorations and we are taking a trip to the pumpkin patch next weekend to pick out a a big pumpkin for the porch. I really want to decorate the house and yard nicely this year to set a nice festive mood.

What are your plans? Are your children excited yet?

Caleb is going to be darth vador (I found his costume at Toys-R-Us on clearance and paid $2.98!!!!). He doesn't like all the scary halloween costumes.

My church usually has a bunch of games set up for kids, cider, a hay ride and Caleb likes that because usually he doesn't 'run' into many scary costumes. Plus he loves how much candy he gets (they really do give too much....lol) So hopefully the church will be doing it again this year - I haven't heard anything.

Hayden decided to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, it was a toss up between that Spiderman and Superman lol...

It's cute with a little shell on the back.

Remember when halloween costumes were a plastic sheet with a hole in it and a hard flat plastic mask? The costumes today are so much nicer, lol..

Nick is going to be SuperMan and it is the first year we're going to take him to a couple houses here.

We will be replacing his candy with our own though ;) I'm not that trusting at all.

I dont go all out with this holiday, but see it as a fun time for the little ones and a good reason to take some snap shots :) Lots of cute kodak moments.

I haven't gotten costumes yet! On my to do list for this weekend. We'll decorate the house, carve pumpkins and make some yummy treats.

We may go into the mall early just so the kids can show off their costumes but mainly we spend it at home and make a party out of it here... my kids can't take seeing the scary costumes either it freaks them out.
