Christmas Gift of the Three Little Pigs - Literally
Now I've seen all the TV commercials and shows and for some reason it just never hit me as a reality as much as when I saw the photos and related it to Christmas... I guess just being too absorbed in my own life to really think about it before.
My parents sponsor two foster children and I'd like to do that some day but for now I've decided to give them $40 towards the Christmas gifts they are going to purchase for their sponsor child's community. I believe we are getting three little pigs ($120) and stocking a medical clinic ($100).
I know there are children in our own country who don't have enough food and the basic necessities; I was very surprised to hear on the radio that 1 in 5 children here in Canada are hungry.

I plan on giving my in-laws a 'present' at www.heifer.org. It's an organization that sends live animals to developing nations to help them become self sustaining from that animal. We are debating between buying a flock of chicks or a beehive. My in-laws love honey and they also get their eggs from a local farmer so I know they would appreciate either one.
My in-laws are well-to-do enough to buy what they want, so I hope this will be a nice gift for them.
