Christmas Is Getting Expensive!
For instance, my daughter Victoria who is now 14. She wants this new cell phone that has mp3s on it, video, and all sorts of cool things. And I want to get it for her as much as she wants it. So, giving new felts and a new coloring book, just doesn't cut it anymore.
But how did this all happen?
We get into such a spirit of giving that we just run with it and get the kids exactly what they want. I gather it's ok, but not sure if I'm spoiling them too much.
I think alot of it comes from when I grew up myself, we didn't have as much as my kids have today. Heck, my husband wants the kids to each have their own computer in their bedrooms. I said no to that one. But I think we always want to give our kids more than what we had growing up.
When Christmas comes around, all sense of saving any money goes out the window. Basically the money we save getting the deals, gives us more cash to spend on other gifts.
And it's just so hard now, to keep it all locked up for the big day. Man I want to give out "just the small ones honey" to the kids. But I'm restraining myself. :-)
So this year, I'm going to do my best to not spend so much moolah on the kids.
