Got a Nanny Cam? Are You Watching Your Kids?

I have hard time with the invasion of people's privacy and I often cringe when I hear about things like the StealthCam Hidden Camera. Of course, I know that people may choose to have a nanny cam to watch the person who is caring for their children and there are many horror stories of what was discovered with a hidden camera...but it still doesn't site right with me.

There has to be some element of trust when it comes to the care of your children. If you don't trust that person, they shouldn't be watching your children...but maybe that's just me.

Then I hear from parents who use spy cameras and other recording devices to keep track of what they do when they are out of the house and when they're on the computer. Man, I know these are crazy times and the Internet is den for disgusting pedophiles, but what happened to a child's right to privacy...or do they just not have that right anymore? When I was a child, my mother never went through my things and I believe that gave me self-confidence and the ability to make smart decisions (well, most of the time) on my own.

If parents put restrictions on computers (but get a computer pro to do it, but most kids are far more computer savvy than their parents and can work around blocks), that makes sense to me...but actually spying and watching what they're doing is a little harder for me to swallow.

Of course, my kids aren't teenagers yet, so you can check back with me in about 8 years! What do you think? Have you ever used a hidden camera or do you keep tabs on your kids activities?
