Real tree or fake tree for Xmas?

Which one do you put up for Christmas in your home? We usually do "real" Christmas tree for our home - a few years ago we used a fake tree - when we lived in an apartment. Last year, I gave my fake tree to my younger sister. This year, again, we are buying a real tree. Real trees are so much fun - the only hassles are, that you need to keep it in water so it stays fresh and I really don't care for the needles that fall. I was hoping to get our house decorated sooner but ... with hubby working, it's hard to coordinate with him on when we can actually go and pick up a tree. My kids love going to the Xmas tree lot to pick a tree - sometimes, it takes us forever to agree on which tree to pick especially if we procrastinate ... and all the better looking trees are gone.

After we take the tree home, my husband sets it up while the kids and I take the decorations from the garage and get ready to decorate. Then, we all have fun decorating the tree and putting up the rest of the decorations around the house. I can't wait ... the next few days - my hubby will be working so maybe over the weekend ... we'll have time to pick out a tree.

We used to have a real tree when we had hard wood floors...easier to clean up needles. Now we have carpet and its all fake! I really don't mind, it still looks pretty without the mess or extra cost for the tree. The only thing I miss a little is the smell, but now I have a bunch of wallflowers from Bath and Body Works in Aspen Winter and it smells just as good! ;)

Real trees are over-rated...LOL. When we moved out of our condo, I was so excited to get a real tree. It was a pain to upkeep, decorate and dispose of.

Now I'm so happy with my fake tree with lights built in.

DH just asked me this questions. We've never tried fake. I really like the smell of real. But I was actually thinking of going fake this year. We'll see...

Oh I couldn't imagine not having a real tree. We had a fake tree one year and that was that. It went in the yard sale the next year.

It's a special time each year for us to go to the farm pick out the special tree our family wants, cut it down and bring it home. I wouldn't have it any other way and the girls just have a blast. I also just love the smell of real trees.

I love real trees but about 3 years ago when we moved here, we got a fake one and it was meant to be only for one year and we've kept it ever since!

Real trees (especially big ones) are sooo expensive here that I just can't be bothered so we'll keep our fake one for now.

I love real trees, but we don't haven't had one yet. Next year I hope.

My very first Christmas on my own, I had a real live Charlie Brown tree. Oh how I wish I had taken a picture of it. I was so proud of my 2 or so feet tree with only about 5 limbs on it. :)
