Work Christmas Parties

My husband's Christmas party is coming up this weekend. Since I work at home, it's always an excuse for me to get dressed up and enjoy some fun that I miss about the workplace. Don’t misunderstand me here, I don't miss work...but I miss the parties. heehee

My husband works for the cable company and they always do it up pretty big...and it's free. Sure beats when I worked for the government and I had to PAY to go to my Christmas party. What kind of fun is that?

It’s nice to gather with other adults too since working at home can sometimes mean not a whole lot of adult conversation. ;) I love my boys, but there are just some things toddlers don’t understand.

What kinds of fun are you having this year at your Christmas parties? What do you like most about them?

Our office gathering is Saturday night and I'm bring Taboo!!! It's my favorite game!

I think we're supposed to bring a White Elephant gift too. I do NOT like to play this game! I always bring something nice and I go home with someones used Christmas candle.

Our group is small, about 10 people. We are expecting it to be great fun!! (Besides the White Elephant part....)

No work Christmas party for me this year, but the company I used to work for threw some pretty good parties. No cost to the employees and included whatever alcohol you wanted while at the party. We also did a gift exchange there and the food was always good. Plus it was always a good reason for DH and I to have a night out without the kids.

No Work Xmas parties for us either but we have a Xmas party every year with our close friends - thats about 10 families - it is a huge Xmas party and lots of fun. It's potluck and we also play white elephant. Since it is a large party it takes us about 2-3 hours to finish the white elephant - the kids open their presents and the adults have fun chatting, drinking and singing karaoke.

The last company I worked for required us to put a $50 deposit down for the Christmas party. If we didn't attend they cashed our check.
