Have you gone on a Fun Date Lately?

My son celebrated his 9th Birthday a couple of days ago. My husband was busy working that day and my 2 older kids were in school. Since my son is OFF-track until Feb.4, I decided to go out on a "Fun Date" with him on his birthday - Just Max and Mom. It was actually a lot of FUN!

We had to run a couple of errands but all went well. I hardly heard him complain. We went to see "Night at the Museum". We had lunch out. We then went to Barnes and Nobles - one of his favorite places and he got to pick a fun toy called "Tip Over" and finally we went to Chuck E. Cheese for some more FUN. I think he had fun too. We enjoyed playing together in Chuck E. Cheese - even if I was freaking out because of all the "germs". It has been a long time since I felt like a little kid. We giggled, skipped and ate cotton candy.

How about you? When was the last time you took your little one out on a date? When was the last time you felt like a little kid?

My teenager and I went out for lunch last month. He loves Great Khan's so we went there. I always have a terrific time when we just hang out.

I did this just a few days ago with my 5 year old, who is the quiet one and tends to get overlooked. I took him out for ice cream and we went and looked at toys. He was so funny... usually I take the kids to look at toys after I shop, so he said: "Mom I know you have to look at your stuff first cause it's more important." LOL!
I surprised him by looking at toys first and even buying some. ;)
We had so much fun and it was great spoiling him without the other kids trying to get my attention. :)

Now that my kids are living on their own I try to have dates with them. Everyone's lives are so busy I think it's important set aside special time just for them.

I think it's a great idea no matter how old your kids are.
