Canada’s Next Top Model – The Games Have Begun

Tonight’s the second episode of Canada’s version of the popular America’s Next Top Model. I watched last week and host Jay Manuel was annoying as usual, but I can deal with that because all the drama of the contestants keeps me from concentrating too much on him. You know me…give me drama and I’m good to go.

Last week, 10 girls were brought to the show thinking they were going to compete with 9 others for the title of Canada’s Next Top Model. Boy were they surprised when they showed up and Jay decided he’d throw 10 more competitors into the mix. By the end of the night 10 of them were finalists and 10 pretty much made a wasted trip.

I think finalist Janine touched a nerve when she bashed Tyra Banks basically saying she was a has-been. Not a smart move! The judges very obviously were not happy about it. Strike one for Janine? Methinks maybe. But not a harsh enough strike to put her in the bottom 2 of the night.

To end the show, Steff and Mika were the final two and to Steff’s surprise she’s safe for another week. Mika was sent packing, which really was no surprise…no one really cared for her anyway.

I was also surprised to see Next Top Model judge Nigel Barker playing a reality show host on The Young and the Restless. He’s a handsome photographer, but not so sure of his acting ability. Hey, that’s ok though…he blends right in with the rest of the shows actors. ;-)
