Have you ever gone fishing?

Have you ever gone fishing with your kids? My husband loves fishing and even before we had kids, we would go and fish - I used to find it soooo boring. But, it's not too bad anymore as I really enjoy watching our kids while they fish.

Plus, now, I know to take lots of stuff to keep me occupied - like books, puzzles, games and mp3 players. Now, it's an escape - while the kids and hubby are busy fishing, I get to catch up in reading and listening to some mp3's.

Last weekend, we decided on a whim to go camping - so we woke up early Saturday morning to pack up for a one night camping trip to Yucaipa Regional Park - unfortunately, just as we were going, my hubby called to check to make sure they have some camping spots open and what do we know ... all spots were taken. *sigh* - Well, since we were ready to do something "outdoorsy" - we just decided to drive to Lake Gregory to try our luck fishing. We got there at 10:30am - had a picnic and went fishing. We played "Guesstures" and had a lot of FUN.

My son Max - was the only one who caught a big enough fish to take home - see his picture up there? The rest of the fishes were too little to take home so we just set them free. We stayed there until about 8:00pm. It was a fun-filled day - although we were bummed for not being able to sleep under the stars. Trips like these are the most memorable to me - it also helped that the "FUN Activity" hardly cost us any money.
