Help This Picky Toddler’s Mama

Arika, posted at the forum the other day about how she can’t get her 2 year old son to eat his fruits and veggies.

This is Arika’s second child but not eating fruits and veggies is new to her because her oldest loves them.

Some suggestions we’ve given her so far include:

- Using dips
- Hiding the healthy foods in things like muffins, bread, smoothies, etc.
- Even getting him involved in growing a garden

Got any other suggestions for this mama who knows what’s good for her baby but can’t seem to get him to come over to her side and agree? ;-)

I've been lucky that both our kids like most every fruit and veggie we've had them try. One suggestion I heard was to put sliced, finger food size veggies out (safe for toddlers) on the table while cooking. If they think they are sneaking something, they might be more willing to eat it lol

We had a hard time getting our 2-year old son to eat veggies too. All he wanted then was pasta and bread. Now that he's almost 3, he's back open to eating veggies, especially if it's from our garden. He'll go right up to our cherry tomato plant and start picking them off eating them like candy.

I'd suggest just hiding vegetables in juices, smoothies, pasta, etc. until he's over this phase.

Good luck!
