So Sad
After reading the article Shari posted, I honestly just could not believe my eyes. The horror these poor children suffered, all because their mom and dad were too lazy and careless to get their butts up from the computer to take care of their children disgusts me and makes me so sad for these two little babies.
I am just so thankful that someone found the 22-month old little boy and his 11-month old sister. After hospital care and placement in a loving foster home, it seems the children are doing better. Hopefully these children will be able to live happy and healthy lives with people who love and care for them the way children should be.
The fact that BOTH parents did this is what I don’t get. How can both parents be addicted to video games knowing they have 2 children under 2 years old who can’t take care of themselves and depend on their parents for everything?
According to the article the parents are facing a MAXIMUM of 12 years in prison each. What do you think, is 12 years in prison even near what the parents of these children deserve?

I'm still so sad about this - it breaks my heart. The thing that makes me the most mad is you KNOW they didn't neglect themselves. I'm just thankful these babies were rescued in time. Using addiction as the excuse for being lazy and selfish is pathetic.
I was also shocked at the sentence. While the foster program is designed to reunite families if/when the parents show they can actually BE parents - these two biological donors need to have a harsher punishment. One person I know said they need at least 18 years -so the children will be of age by the time they get out. I'm still not sure that's long enough....
I read this on a blog a couple weeks back. It was pretty shocking to read. I know that people can get to wrapped up in their online business and even video games, but for it to go THAT far was very shocking. I hope their children won't be scarred for life.
I don't know about the sentence... who can really say. It's so unfortunate because everybody loses out in this one.
We have to go back to where the problem stemmed from... I wonder if these parents were abused themselves. It's NO excuse but there's obviously something wrong up there for them to do this.
