When To Let Them Stay Home Alone
Interestingly, many of the mamas agreed that it really depended on the individual child. I have to agree…you can’t really put an age on something like that. For instance some children are mature enough at 10, while others probably wouldn’t feel comfortable being left alone for a few more years after that.
I can’t remember when I started to stay home without my parents (regardless, it didn’t happen very often), but I was probably fairly young since I had a sister 4 years my senior. When it comes to my own kids, I haven’t a clue when I’ll cut the cord.
How about you? What are your thoughts on the allowing kids to stay home by themselves?

I agree that it depends on the individual child. However, the first step is to find out what the law is in your area regarding the age that a child can legally be left alone - just in case something should happen.
We went with the legal age in our state. I believe it waas 11 years old.
When I think about it I have to chuckle. He must have called me 20+ times that day, at work.
