WTF: A World That Wants Us to Cheat?

Don't get all up in arms. In my case, the "F" stands for "fart". ;-)
But seriously, what is with this disposable society that makes it okay to cheat? Numerous songs talk about it. Now, the latest Ben Stiller movie is DEDICATED to it (I guess it's remake of some 70s movies that I am not privy to).
The Heartbreak Kid is no happy-go-lucky Zoolander and that makes me sad. There were no:
- Magnum poses
- Freak gasoline fight accidents
The trailers for The Heartbreak Kid would have us think that Stiller's character married a complete physco and he had no choice but to break free.
B.S.
(Ummmm...bull stuff!)
The chick was quirky, a little weird, but that's what you get when you marry someone after 6 weeks. SURPRISE!
In the end, I figured the message was that everyone has a true soul mate, but if you make other choices in the meantime, I don't think that you should be able to just drop what's on your plate for the grass that's greener on the other side.
Don't know what Ben was thinking, but I hope he'll be back to doing walk-offs and truly entertaining us again soon.

Leo and I saw this last weekend, and I was really hoping it would be truly funny. It was in some parts, but then it just got plain stupid. And as I was walking out felt a pit in my stomach because it makes it OK to dump your spouse for someone new and exciting. ?? What about long lasting love, like Dr. Phil says, "a soft place to land."
I only saw the trailer and I thought the same thing you did Alice. I didn't think it was a good message at all.
I think had that same "pit", Vera. It was just bizarre. The main character is supposed to be likable, even if he makes mistakes. This guy was NOT likable.
