Weird But True

My son came home from work yesterday with an amazing tale to tell.

He works at the grocery store in town, his supervisor was a guy I worked with at the grocery store in town over 20 years ago, that was weird! I don't think the guy I worked with liked it much either, he quit after working there over 20 years, his wife ran off with the next door neighbour and now his house is for sale. But I digress :0)

It all started when Jenile, a girl who works at the store came and told the guys that she thought some pop cases had been knocked because she heard them fall over, so they should go clean it up.

Well, she was partly right.

A truck had driven into the front of the store and knocked the entire wall of pop cans that are always stacked by the check out counters down. They had to close early to clean up the mess. It was a true miracle that no one was there because they would have been injured for sure, getting winged with even one pop can can leave a good dent in a person's head.

The people that drove into the store where the floor cleaners coming to work. And they did the same thing at another store last year! Maybe they've been sniffing too many floor cleaning chemicals or are far too close to their job.

So the guy that owns the store called someone else to clean the mess on the floors.

There was an offduty policeman checking out his groceries at the time of the crash, talk about bringing your work home with you (or to the grocery store). Then the ambulance people showed up, so they let them in thinking they had been called, but they were only stopping in for something to eat.

There where a pair of old guys selling raffle tickets, they had front row seats. I'm sure they where totally freaked out. It's just a good thing that they don't usually park it about 2 feet over or they would have been hurt.

The girls working at the front must have thought the store was falling down,. One girl who is friends with my son and his age was crying. She often packs my groceries and makes cracks about how Jake is probably going to eat all the food by the next day, the poor little thing must have jumped out of her skin, but beyond that, no one was hurt.

Weird but true. I'm thinking that maybe that isn't such a good place to keep the pop!
