Today is Officially a Family Day Holiday
I think it's a great concept, although it is a baby step in the right direction of what really needs to go on in the work place and in society in general to promote family and to help bring back the connections that used to be the norm with so many families having both parents working to pay the bills these days - work at home included.
We are "iced" in so didn't get to follow through with our plan to go swimming (at an indoor pool) but instead decided to have a foosball tournament and the winner got to pick a family movie for us to watch this afternoon.
My 17 year old son played in the tournament but for some reason isn't interested in watching a movie with us girls, bah humbug!
He won the general tournament, my youngest daughter won between just us girls so got the final pick.
In honour of family day, why not dig out a game?
Another recent favourite that we have been playing is a game called Smart Ass. I thought it was fitting. You'd have to know our family to understand.
It is educational but fun. It is probably similar to Trivia Pursuit.
If it isn't Family Day where you live, why not make an effort today to kick back and enjoy some fun?
If it is, what did you do with your family?

1 Comments:
It is only family day in Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba (where it is known as Louis Riel Day).
