That's a picture of my daughter in her new
Bumbo Seat
. It's such a cute seat for her to be in during the times of the day I can't hold her and laying down in her crib or play pen is just too boring. It seems like she doesn't quite know what to make of it just yet, but I think she likes the new perspective. It just so happened that the only
Bumbo
left at the store I went to was pink, but it does come in other colors too.
The box says that it's for ages 3 months - 14 months. My daughter just made 3 months earlier this month, so we'll get "full" use of this
Bumbo
. My 3-year-old son has put his butt in it a couple times when his sister wasn't in it. I guess he wanted to check out his sister's cool new chair. I was surprised that he actually fit in it. I was a little worried about my daughter fitting in it when she got older, but if my son can squeeze his 3 year old booty in it, I'm sure she'll still be able to sit in it at 14 months.
Anyway - One of the cute things I noticed was her checking out her feet...see?

I have a 12 month old and I have had her a BUMBO since she was about your daughter's age. Now she can crawl out of it and stand up in it at 12 months. Warning: please don't leave your daughter unattended and please don't sit her in it up off the ground, on a counter, table, or desk unless you are right there and not going to take your eyes off of her. They can fall out! My daughter hasn't but I have heard on the news reports of it. They were almost recalled.
Oh my goodness Stacie she's gorgeous! Those bumbos are too cute too... wish they had been around when mine were babies. They would have been great for those times when my shoulder was worn out from the sling.
They are so cute, but I was also concerned about what Alyssa said...about babies crawling out.
I always used a baby swing which provided more security and also rocked them...but they can't be used as long. Plus, swings take up more space than this cute little chair.
Any thoughts on how it compares to a baby swing, if you've used one?
Oh no, if she's in the Bumbo she is on the ground, not on a table or counter or chair or anything else. There is also always someone in the room with her to keep an eye on her.
I've used a swing with some of my other kids. It was good when they were sleepy because they'd be able to just sleep in there, but for me, the Bumbo is for a different purpose and used during a more alert stage when baby still wants to be a part of what's going on.
Thanks Stacie.
Definitely, it should always be on the ground...just concerned the little baby might fall on her face. :-(
It's super cute, though.
I would put the babies in the swing and not turn it on, so they could play. They seemed to like it and when I was desperate for a shower or needed to cook, I'd turn on a Baby Einstein video and they watched in the swing.
