My Son Is Voting Today

Oh, this is a big day. My son is 19, and he will be voting today. It is so amazing as a Mom to see my "little boy" grow up, and to have such adult conversations and opinions on matters like politics!

He truly amazes and enthralls me, because he is a deep thinker and a great example of our future generation of young people, who are concerned with big issues of life.

This is an Elections Canada Vancouver Quadra By-Election - and I'm excited to vote and see my son vote for the first time.

The candidate who I plan to vote for says:

"I want to work to stop the big polluters, to make sure that corporations meet the standards that ordinary Canadians expect. There can no longer be a free ride at the expense of clean air, clean water and our climate."

I have never been a huge "political" person, but in recent years I see more and more how important it is for each of us to have a voice, and take advantage of the wonderful privilege that we do have to vote, and my son is setting a great example.
