Capital Anesthesiology Association (CAA) was founded in 1973 and has become one of the country’s largest physician practices in anesthesiology. Based in Austin, Texas, the CAA has more than 80 physicians and 130 CRNAs (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists) in over 20 facilities throughout the region. CAA lends their services to numerous ambulatory surgery centers, high-acuity hospitals, and level 1 Trauma Centers.
Each MD within CAA is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology or is on their way to receiving that certification. Many of these physicians have received advanced training in different specialized areas within the anesthesiology field, including pediatrics, obstetrics, and cardiothoracic. CAA’s MDs are committed to upholding clinical excellence through every aspect of clinical care.
One of the most critical components of CAA is their multitude of highly trained CRNAs. These CRNAs support physicians in providing patients with comfortable and safe anesthesia experiences. Together with the rest of the CAA team, CAA gives each patient the best in anesthesia care.
CAA uses education and data reporting to continuously grow, learn, and achieve their mission of ensuring quality practices to each and every patient they serve. They are a member of the Anesthesia Quality Institute (AQI), allowing CAA to be the leader in quality patient care and the standard for many other practice’s patient care models.
Part of CAA’s mission is to continuously stay involved in the community. That is why most of their physicians and CRNAs are involved in many local and national organizations like Eels on Wheels, Operation Smile, Austin Smiles, Children’s Medical Center Foundation, Family Eldercare, and Dell Children’s Surgical Global Outreach.
