Got Our Disney Tickets!

WooHoo! We've been more or less planning this trip since we came home from our last trip to DisneyWorld 3 years ago. The kids were asking when we'd go back and we told them we'd go back in 2007. Each year they asked about it. Each year they counted how much more time until it would be 2007 and we'd get to go back to DisneyWorld.

Soooooo....We've had the airplane tickets since we did our taxes back in March. We've had the place to stay since last November because own a timeshare there near Disney and that's the earliest we could make the reservation. Last week I reserved our rental car, and today I finally picked up the last of the DisneyWorld Park Hopper passes we need for the trip AND I also picked up tickets for our family to go to Sea World in Orlando as well. I'm getting so excited. We fly out on the 6th of September, but won't get into Orlando until Friday afternoon.

I don't think the kids realize how soon the trip is. They've been busy with school. We've all been busy getting our house ready to sell and soon we'll be busy packing things up because we're in escrow and will hopefully close at the end of September. Since we don't want to have to worry about coming back home from vacation and moving, we're planning to move out on Labor Day weekend. I know the time will go fast and I better get started with our packing. Oh, and that reminds me....I also have to pick up a few more bags for luggage. One of ours broke and now we have one more child than we did the last time and the other kids are bigger so their clothes will take up more space. Eek - I better make me a "to do" list so that nothing slips through the cracks.

Unlock the Disney Vault!

Every few months Disney takes a classic video out of the Vault and puts another one in. And for some reason, the latest spell of "Locking the Disney Vault" has me upset. While I'm not in a hurry to own Lady and the Tramp, I'm sick of being pushed around by Disney's marketing department.

Yes - it is a great marketing ploy. Everytime one of the movies I want to own is about to be locked away I do rush out and buy it. But now I'm putting my foot down...I'm saying no more! Unlock the Disney Vault and make the movies available ALL THE TIME!!!

I'm sure Sleeping Beauty, Belle and Snow White are getting tired of being locked away.

The Little Mermaid just got out and there's no telling when they're going to make her go back in. Poor thing's probably afraid for her life in there. Ursula's in there and Cinderella's evil stepmother's in there too! It's a good thing Scar fell off that cliff or he'd be in there too...

There are other ways to get parents to make a purchase, right? How about special bonus features, or bundling some of the classic together on one DVD? Or how about an ole fashion price reduction??
