3D Ultrasound Pictures - I'm Amazed

Then again what mother isn't amazed when they see their baby? LOL

I didn't think I was going to do this, but my husband asked about it and I caved in. I know there are people out there who are absolutely against unnecessary ultrasounds, but after we did this one I felt like it was a good decision for my own personal reasons.

So - for those of you who are curious, I'll share some of the pictures we got. We are still firmly on Team Green though the tech was asking us if we could tell by the face if it was a boy or girl. Seeing as how my youngest daughter and my son look very much alike, I find it quite pointless to try to determine gender by face alone. Of course, most people I've shared this with has an opinion on what they think and I find each one interesting, so feel free to share yours.

We were also told that fluid level was good and that baby was measuring accurately with my dates so that was good to hear too.

Okay...here are the pictures...

Personally...I've never seen one like this before, so it's one of my favorites.

Time Out For My Baby

I have the most wonderful little girl, she's 5 years old now and is going to start Kindergarten this September. I find it so much harder to discipline her, but I still force myself to do it. She's just so darn cute when she gets into trouble, and she is my ....

Baby :-)

My 14 year old daughter had after school activities so I had to pick her up lastnight at 9:30pm, my son came with me to go and get her. They both begged me on the way home for some chips at 7 Eleven, well I gave in. I'm such a softie.

I let them go in the store on their own with their own money. As I sat back and gazed at my 2 children, my thoughts wandered to what they looked like when they were much smaller.

My two babies are growing up, and boy is it hard to discipline the 5 year old for what seems silly to me. Like crying over not wanting to leave playtime at a friends house.

I wish I wasn't such a softie!

City, Country or Somewhere In Between

Forum member, Tishia, started a thread about a week ago telling us how she missed living in the big city.

Some parents who grew up in small towns say they left and would never go back, until they had kids that is. Now, many of them would rather their kids grow up in a smaller town.

Then I know other parents who grew up “in the boonies” and they say they were bored as kids because their friends only came over on special occasions since it took their parents so long to drive them to and from other kid’s houses. Those parents want their kids to have more things to do, without spending all their time driving them around and they choose to live in the city.

I never have lived in a big city, nor have I lived in a small town. I call the ‘burbs home. I love living in the suburbs. I can have my cake and eat it too. I get a taste of the city when I want it without having to drive far and I don’t ever worry about not having anything to do because we’re out in the country.

I think it’s a good mix for our boys too. They have plenty of friends in the neighborhood to play with, but should they want peace and quiet time (more so when they get older probably, right now the more the merrier to them), they can have it at home without hearing the city and all the hustle and bustle that goes with it right outside their window.

Do you live in the city, country, or somewhere in between? Did having your kids make a difference in where you lived or want to live?

Opinions on Weighing at School

Over at the forum a discussion is brewing regarding schools and weighing of children on a regular basis.

Mila received a notice from her children’s school stating they were going to start weighing the children each year and charting their growth in an attempt to curb the childhood obesity problem. Of course, parents have the option to say no and opt out in this case.

Many moms are concerned that something like this would cause children to put even more stress on themselves in regards to self-image. If done in a way that kids can be privy to the weight of other kids I could see this as becoming a bigger problem than it already is.

What are your thoughts on this issue? Do you think that the government should be allowed to step in when it comes to our children’s weight? Come on over to the forum and talk with us: Is Weighing in Schools Going too Far?

Last Day of School - Woo Hoo!

Today is the last day of school before my oldest son Malcolm starts his Winter Break. He’s happy and so am I! Goodbye alarm clock, you won’t be missed. No more getting up early each day. Well at least not for two weeks anyway.

I feel like I’m the kid in school. Just dying for break to start and it finally has. I actually think that it is quite possible I’m happier than my son. ;)

I just hope that the schedule hasn’t set in too much. I would really stink if I was all excited about sleeping in and then the boys still get up at the normal time. LOL

I’ve got lots of fun things in mind for the boys and I during the break, but nothing before 9am!
