You Know You're a Mom When...

Recently our local newspaper ran an article that shared some thoughts from Hawaii moms on "You know you're a mom when..."

They gathered the information from HawaiiMoms.com and I just thought you'd get a kick out of reading what some Hawaii Moms had to say. You can read the article HERE.

Wanna know some of my thoughts? Here they are...

You Know You're a Mom When...

...going to the grocery store by yourself is a big treat.

...the word "No" becomes the most commonly used word in your vocabulary.

...the majority of your conversation for the day happens with people who are under the age of 5.

...you look for your kids even when they aren't with you.

...you know that a room of quiet kids often means trouble.

...the day you meet the kids named "I don't know" and "Wasn't me" they are really going to get it!

...you feel super special when you get a meal all to yourself and you don't have to share.

...you don't need an alarm clock to wake up by 7 am

A Mom and Her Money - Can you be a Dynamic Diva?

I feel that this particular subject is really important for women and especially Moms. Did you know that:

• Having a child (statistically) lowers our lifetime earning power by over a Million dollars?
• 75% of the retired living in poverty are women?
• That we still only earn .70 on a man's dollar?
• By age 50, most of us will be responsible for ourselves financially?
• And don't we women have so much emotional baggage around money too? "Nice girls don't get rich" etc...

Do I HAVE To Go Back To Work?

I'm feeling a little sad today, even though it's Friday, lol. I've had all week off and have enjoyed the freedom so much I don't want to go back!

I guess it's because I'm pretty close to my goal of being a work at home mom that this little taste of it is almost too much to take, hehe. It's been so nice to be able to spend real quality time with my son. I didn't realize how much I miss him until being able to be here and have the time to cuddle up, chat, and have fun together.

Almost everyday he's asked me if I'm going to work today and when I say no he's so happy to hear it. It's so nice to be able to pick him up from school too and ask him how his day went.

Anyway, just thought I'd post about it here... I'm so jealous of you moms who get to stay home - cherish it! Not jealous in a bad way though, jealous in a way that keeps me motivated LOL. This is such an awesome community of moms and I love being part of it :).

Another thing about being home. I'm getting too lazy to get dressed, today it's 12pm and I'm still in my PJ's... hmmmm... maybe it is time to get back to work. :)
