Atlanta Mom? Learn how to work at home

We don't usually talk business on this blog, but I thought some of you might be interested in this, or perhaps you know someone who will be.

Monday, June 18th at 12:00 pm I'll be giving a FREE seminar at Sevananda Natural Foods in Atlanta. I'll be discussing various legitimate ways of earning money from home using the Internet, including:

  • eBay
  • Virtual Assistance and Telecommuting
  • Podcasting and Internet Radio
  • Affiliate Marketing
  • Service businesses

Sevananda is located at: 467 Moreland Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30307

Call (404) 681-2831 to reserve your spot. See you there :-)

eBay Shuts Down Cloth Diaper Auctions

I’m probably the last cloth diapering Mommy to know, but eBay no longer allows used cloth diaper listings. I listed a bunch of stuff since my youngest and last baby is potty training, and they were promptly removed.

I was promptly contacted by several Moms who saw my auctions and told me about a place to buy, sell and trade cloth diapers: DiaperSwappers.

eBay’s change of policy has created a huge opportunity for Moms who sew cloth diapers, wholesale them, or who just are a bit addicted to buying and trading like some of us ;)

I’m sure there are other sites out there like this one. Smart Mamas!

Mommy Wars - Don't They Know?

I'm about sick of hearing all this "Mommy Wars" crap. For one, why does the media love to add fuel to this fire? Is it the age old thing about people loving to see a catfight?

Secondly, it just makes me sick that Oprah, of all people, is jumping on the bandwagon and hosting an episode on this topic. Can't people just leave Elizabeth Vargas alone? So what if she's all blissed out on lactation hormones and doesn't want to leave her baby? Why does she have to make some kind of feminist "statement"? Isn't the point for women to have choices?

Of course, the show airs tomorrow so obviously I haven't seen it and can't pass judgment (I never watch Oprah and certainly won't be tuning in tomorrow because I just know I'll need a barf bag handy, as I always do when Oprah talks about motherhood!).

Thirdly, why doesn't anyone ever mention that women don't HAVE to choose between working for money and being with their kids? Why are work at home options never mentioned on these shows? In my opinion, it's simply because people are only interested in fighting for the sake of arguing. They don't really want to reach consensus or do what's best for the kids, they just want to argue their position.

Okay,
